What a week it's been so far.
I had a closing early Monday morning. It's bad enough it's scheduled for early Monday morning but of course, the closing didn't go as planned. This makes the second closing (my only two closings!) that have taken not only a monkey wrench but the whole damned toolbox and chucked it into my plans.
It seems that the lot I was selling was once part of two lots, which somewhere down the road was split into three lots. The title search should have found this. Nope, title search was perfectly fine. Great. So I show up at the Closing and the Closer ( hmmm, what are they officially called?) informs us of the problem. Of course, the listing agent and seller aren't there yet, so I sit there with my buyers and try to act like this isn't a big deal, it happens all the time, we'll have it fixed in a jiffy. Finally the seller and his agent show up and when informed of the problem say:
DUUUUUHHHH.....
They had no idea there was a problem. And so we are still waiting on them to fix the problem. It's a case of poor records keeping but I need that check!!!
On a much brighter note, we had our first class on child birth. It was funny, I left work to get there and I beat Jen by about ten minutes. Not wanting to walk in by myself, I decided to wait outside. I did look into the room to see if she had arrived before me. I have never seen a room full of women that all looked like my wife. I promise, they all looked just like her!
The class was neat and informative. It seems as though Jen didn't explain things or go into as much detail as she should have. So, needless to say, I learned a lot. The videos were quite informative. I think Jen will beat me silly if I take a photo of a cat to the hospital for her to focus on when she has a bad contractiong, which is what one of the husbands did.
And on another bright note, we have a new home! We have rented a four bedroom home in a great neighborhood and will be moving in the next week or two. That house rocks, I'll be able to have my office (also known as my room to play xbox games and hide from two cranky women), B's room is huge (it's a converted garage and has got to be 25 feet long and it has a beautiful fenced in back yard. This home is great. I can't wait to get in and set up the baby's room. Uhhh, and to uhhh, bbq on the patio and drink beer. (I have to have some macho stuff to offset the decorating the baby room thing, don't I?)
