Excuse me while my head explodes...
So, we know that my first closing today has been postponed until Monday, right? That's fine, things happen. My second closing was scheduled for 4pm today. I show up and it seems that my out of town buyer's lender had the packet on his desk, open, and
DIDN'T MAIL IT!!!!
I guess I should look on the bright side and realize that I have two closings on Monday, but I don't want to.
So much for having two closings today...
I was at the final walkthrough for a home I am closing on today when I got a call from the listing agent on the other house I was going to close on today. It seems that my buyer's lender waited until 4pm the day before the closing to inform us that the closing is off. Seems there was a small problem that they couldn't have known about until 27 hours before closing!
So, hopefully, the closing is on for Monday because when my buyer signs the addendum, her deposit money (five thousand) will be given to the seller if we don't close on Monday.
Real Estate is not nearly as easy as
House Hunter's makes it out to be. Sure, it is an extremely fun, exciting career but I am not sure if I'd classify it as easy.
I just hope my four o'clock closing goes well or I'll really be in a bad mood.
Baby Thigpen is healthy!!
We went to the Doctor today and the Doctor used the ultrasound to see how much he weighs. Right now, with five weeks to go, he weighs 7.1 pounds. We got to see Baby T's fist...seems he doesn't like anything on his Mom's tummy other than hands. He kicks at the seat belt when Jen is driving and the Doctor was amused and a little suprised at the kicks. Seems Baby T. has a good leg.
I think I'd rather he be a Quarterback rather than a kicker, but either one is good.
Geez, just five weeks to go. I can't wait! Not only is my new career going very well (TWO closings tomorrow!!!) but we are moving this weekend! It's going to be an exciting few months!
Yesterday was a good day
But it started out as a day where it would be better to just stay in bed. I woke up early, with every intention of being at work at 8am sharp. I made it to the living room where I then decided that my head was going to explode. I have bad sinuses, and after an incident involving my nose and our 'loving, sweet' 18 pound psychotic cat, any change in the weather means I am going to be suffering from a bad sinus headache.
So, that ws yesterday morning. I took some sinus medicine and thought of dragging myself into work anyway. Jen told me to lay down and I ended up snoozing for a couple of hours and then woke up good as new.
So, off to work I go. And was it crazy! Let's see, called California three times, sent two faxes, spoke to the Selling Agent twice, left him one message, then made sure my other closing this week (YES!!! Two closings in one week!!!) was properly set up. I then got a call for the buyer, who is a first time buyer and is understandably a bit antsy about buying her first home. I answered her questions and then set up a time to let her into the house she is buying and spent a couple of hours there with her and her mother. B got to go with me and was pretty well behaved, she and the buyers 20 month old had al ot of fun playing chase in the huge, empty house.
My Mom had B. from 2 to 5 and took her to her Violin lesson. In the hour between picking her up from school and her lesson, she took B to Baskin Robins. Of course, B tried to get an ice cream sundae and a Culotta but got a kiddie cone instead.
So, after leaving the home, B and I went out to eat. We went to the Village Inn and she decided she wanted to order breakfast. She decided she wanted chocolate chip pancakes. I, being the good Stepdad, asked her if she would really rather have a meal with some veggies instead. She said 'No' in a way only an eight year old can, so I decided she doesn't always have to eat the best food (but she does anyway) and let it go.
A minute or so later B says:
'You might as well let me sugar up, I'll be with Grandma G tomorrow so you won't have to deal with me.'
You can't argue with that.
