6:30 am is too early...

So, if you are a parent, you know what I am talking about. B's school starts at 7:55 am so that means she has to be up and
somewhat alert by 7:00 am, to eat breakfast and get dressed for school. Monday was her first day back and it's actually been hassle free. She likes school and does very well but we wish school started an hour later, like some of the other elementary schools here in town do.

Today was my first day taking her to school and we had fun. I don't know what it is, but when she's in a car going somewhere, she says the funniest things. I remember a few months before her Mom and I got married, I had picked her up from Summer Camp and on the way home, we got into a conversation about me marrying her Mom. I was wondering what she thought of the idea, so I asked her. She thought it was great but she said she was worried about me. I asked her what she meant and she said, in her most grown up voice:

'Well, you know, once you get married, everything will change. Mom won't have to be nice to you anymore.'

Wow, such wisdom at such a young age. This morning went well, she got to school on time and we talked about all the new things that have happened to her in the last year. She got a new stepdad, a new stepmom and a new baby brother and is going to have another baby brother or sister in December. You'd think she'd have some issues about all of the changes but she's fine with it, except she told me she's not too cool with the idea of a 'crying, pooping, wake you up in the middle of the night baby sister' but once the baby is four months old, it gets a lot better so she'll deal with it, she said. She's a good kid.
