Top Five Lists
It's Friday afternoon and I have an appointment in an hour with nothing to do in the mean time so it is now officially 'Friday Afternoon List Time'
My Five Favorite...
Bands:
1. The Jesus and Mary Chain. Simply the best. Ever.
2. U2.
3. Beach Boys.
4. Ned's Atomic Dustbin.
5. The Beatles.
After number two, I really had to think as if I had only five bands to listen to, period. Hmmm, I think I'm stuck in the eighties and even earlier but I have always liked the Beach Boys. Then I got into punk, so if you saw me driving around when I was sixteen, you'd hear either Darklands by the JAMC (go buy it, now) or the Beach Boys or the Violent Femmes.
I think the Violent Femmes were the gateway band to 90 percent of people who like alternative/punk music, at least for anyone in my age group. They'd have made the list (I've probably listened to them more than any other group here except for the Jesus and Mary Chain) but Gordon Gano's voice begins to wear on the nerves after a while.
Next list:
Five Favorite Movies:
1. LOTR: Fellowship of the Ring.
2. LOTR: The two towers.
3. LOTR: The Return of the King. (As if I won't think it's the best movie ever?)
4. Star Wars.
5. ET.
Ok, so I'm a 33 year old geek. But it's my list and those are my four favorite movies. Yes, Return of the King won't be out til December, but I'm sure it will be as good if not better than the first two movies so it's on the list.
