College Football! Cooler weather! Professional Football
Is life great, or what? Well, besides the fact that the Dolphins lost to the Texans. That hurt. In the Texan's defense, they do not look like an two year old team. Still, the Dolphins were supposed to go to the Super Bowl this year! Of course, one loss doesn't mean they won't, but I'm afraid it may be one more year of 7-9, 8-8 or 9-7. At least they are consistent. I've been a Dolphin fan for a long long time (since I was 2 and they went 12-0), so sadly, I'm used to it.
Keeping with the NFL for a bit longer (sorry if you aren't a football fan) it looks like I may have been right in the conversations I have had with people about Favre. To me, he looks like Dan Marino (Best QB. Ever.) in '99 against Jacksonville, where he was 12 of 25 for 95 yards and 2 interceptions. He looks like his arm weighs four hundred pounds. When I saw Marino that day, I knew he was done and I hate to say it, but Favre looks exactly like Marino did that day. I hope it isn't true, Favre is one of the best QB's ever and has been an excellent player. I of course can be (hopefully, I am) wrong, after all, I'm no expert, but I won't be suprised if I'm right.
Jumping to the college football ranks, as a true FSU Seminole fan, can I just say (with a little reservation) that it feels good to be back in the top ten and deserve the ranking? Every elite school goes through a rebuilding period, and most have gone through a far worse rebuilding period than FSU (tons of schools would love to have a record of 9-5 like we did last year) but it looks like we are playing with a bit of the aggresive swagger we used to have. And it is good. Now watch us lost by 40 to Duke...
It's only September 8th but it was noticeably cool this morning on the way to work. God, I hope so, hot weather sucks. Of course, I realize I live in North Florida, which is Seminole for Sahara Desert heat with Amazon jungle humidity, but I love our winters.
Well, time to head for home. I may even drive home with the windows down.
