Wow, how things have changed...
I'm 33 so I was growing up during the punk/alternative/progressive years of the mid 80's. I listened to all the 'cool' bands, The Cure, The Smith's, Violent Femmes, The Clash and on and on and on. One of the coolest bands and one of the most influential bands, Husker Du, was introduced to me by a really cool girl at a party that was one of those really cool parties. Anyway, we never clicked but Husker Du did click with me. 'Sorry Somehow' and 'Don't want to know if you are lonely' are probably the best songs to listen to when that really cool girl rips out your heart and stomps on it with her Doc Martens.
Anyway, Bob Mould, of Husker Du and later, Sugar, fame has a blog. It is a very good read and if you remember the band and the man (and if not, go buy their cd's) go take a look at
Boblog.
Isn't it funny how the internet is finally making the world such a small place. Well, I'm off to find 'Candy Apple Grey', one of Husker Du's best albums. You guys should go buy it. Now. Go. Really, go buy it, but after you take a look at his blog.
