How's that old Beatles song go?
Something about Karma's going to get you?
Man, those Beatles were pretty smart. See, the first Christmas Jen and I were together, we had lots of friends and family with young babies and toddlers. We didn't (yet). So, we thought it would be simply fabulous to buy as many noisy, clanking, electronic, chirping, musical, LOUD toys that we could. The kids adored us, showering us with praise and adulation. Parents loathed us, tossing...no.... throwing dirty looks at us, all the while saying 'Thank you so much' through clinched teeth. Funny, we thought those were smiles, not the death grimace from hell.
Why do I tell you this? Well.....it seems as if Baby T has decided that he loves noise. My wife called me yesterday to tell me what Baby T was doing. We had a bad connection though, I could barely hear her. It seems as if an airport had been built next door to our home since I left work and it was full of high school marching bands who picked that exact time to practice their rah rah songs.
Of course, it just sounded that way. The real culprit was my adorable, beautiful son. He has several toys that play music when jostled. His mission yesterday was to make them all make music...at the same time. According to Jen, he did just that for over an hour. Of course, he did other things, but that was his main job.
But that wasn't enough. Nope, not for Baby T. He has one toy that has a (darn it, can't find a picture of it online!) middle piece and has all these wires circling around with lights and music that plays. As if it isn't obnoxious enough, it is pretty hefty and when let's say a 22 lb six month old baby ohhhh, I don't know, kicks it into the wall over and over and over and over, it makes a lot of noise.
The sound resembled the Philharmonic symphony playing as loud as they could while running as fast as they could into each other after having the annual Philharmonic symphony kegger.
It was brutal. And loud.
I knew I shouldn't have bought my nephew that drum set when he was two....
