Strange things are afoot at the Circle K tonight...

Well, strange things are going on at the House Hunting Stepdad home, too. What you ask? Read on.

My wife had a job with the State and to be honest, it sucked. She was an Abuse Hotline Counselor, which means whenever anyone called in suspected or confirmed child abuse, she took the calls. So, imagine spending nine hours a day listening to the worst possible things you can imagine and that was her job. I am still amazed she would trust anyone to be around her daughter.

We had been kicking around the idea of her quitting and either joining me in Real Estate or her getting certified to teach. We were planning to do it in a few months.

Well, a few months came a little early. She called me two and a half weeks ago and told me she was done with the job. We talked about it that night, took a deep breath, and she typed her resignation letter. We talked about it a little more, then she turned the letter in the next day.

So the last few weeks have been.....actually, they have been great. She is a lot less stressed out and it's nice to see her happier. Sure, we are a tad worried about the future, but who isn't?

Plus, if I can have a week where I made four deals without her help, what can we do together? God knows, if not for her, I'd not be where I am today. Already, her quitting is paying dividends. Friday we went out and prospected, Saturday, too.

I'm very glad she did it. I think it was a great decision and some really good things will come of it.
